Goals...

I was reading a post by Jennifer and she was talking about scrapbooking goals. It got me to thinking. What are my scrapbooking goals?

* Actually stay caught up AND finish the 52 week scrapbook idea topics in layouts. So far I am up to date.

* Stay caught up in printing my pictures. I am pretty good about it. But it is when I run out of paper and ink that I get behind. I just got paper and ink and printed so much, that one of my ink colors is out again already. Geesh.

* Start making mini books to sell on etsy .

* Get caught up on the HUGE stack of photos that I have pilling up.

*Stay organized.

* Not buy so many idea books on a whim. Really look them over to see if I am even going to like it before I buy it. I have bought so many that I don't like once I get them home to read them.

That is all I can think of right now.

Stuff

Working on a pink and purple birthday girl mini book. Thinking I am just making it to try to sell on etsy. I don't know yet though. I have to work today. I have to work tomorrow too. Maybe I will get some stuff done while I am there today and tomorrow. I have to go grocerry shopping now...I am just not in the mood though.
We rented some more movies last night and I am hoping tonight we can lay down and watch them with some popcorn. Hopefully. I am taking my camera to work with me today... I need to catch up on taking some photos at the store and I am going to try to take pictures of some of my stuff too. So then I can post them.

WEEK 5

The topic question for WEEK 5 is...

WHO WAS YOUR FAVORITE TEACHER AND WHAT DID THEY TEACH YOU?

I am going to have to really think about this one.

So I got a scrapbook paper organizer/holder thing at Costco yesterday. It was super easy to put together. It is black and silver. I am really thinking that I want another one. It has 15 drawers. I really like it. I think if I got another one I would put "other" stuff in it, like stickles, punches, adhesive, ink pads, clear unmounted stamps and stuff like that.

I have finished 2 disneyland layouts and 2 back to school pages.
I am really LOVING this school paper line from MOXXIE . I think I am going to get some from each grade level and make a book for Jacob and Caleb. That way they are all the same. Since I have already done Ryan and Marcus' school layouts from previous years, theres will just be all different. I dont' know yet. But I LOVE this paper. I want the rubons and stuff too though.

4. Put links of those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs of the girls you’ve nominated
Here are the people that I nominate...
( I don't know the other people personally...so I am nominating 5).

Christmas Shopping

Who has started Christmas shopping already? I have. Nothing major really. I just pick up things here and there as I see them. Just yesterday I picked up these yesterday at Walmart. I got one for Jacob and one for Caleb. (I don't think the Ryan and Marcus would wear a Mickey Mouse sweatshirt). I thought it would be cute if we go to Disneyland when it is chilly and they could wear these. They were cheap too.

I have gotten a few stocking stuffers too. I have gotten an outfit for Jacob and Caleb already too. It is harder to shop for Ryan and Marcus since one of them is usually with me. But now that they are back in school they won't always be with me when I am shopping so I can get some stuff for them too. I have a list of ideas that I have for shopping for everyone. I am considering changing my idea though for Ryan and Marcus. We were going to get them a small ipod or something from "Santa". Well they each got a Zune yesterday. So... I was thinking maybe a season pass to Disneyland. I don't know yet though. We will see. I love picking up things here and there though so that it is a little less that I have to buy all at once when it gets super close. Which it really is around the corner...

Got to run some errands today. I think I might go to Costco. I don't know yet though.

I started a layout from our Disneyland trip already. I went by work yesterday and got some Disneyland stuff. I didn't buy an album, but I already know which one I want. But I can't wait to get the entire trip scrapped. I will share the layouts when I am done.

Disneyland Photos

Here are some photos from Disneyland. Everyone had their favorite rides.
Jacob liked Splash Mountain
Ryan liked Matterhorn
Marcus liked Splash Mountain
Jacob liked Autopia (the only ride we went on twice)
I liked... I don't know. I liked them all. I think really though it was Pirates of the Caribbean.
I still wish we were there. We had such a good time. We needed that as a family too. Just us, having a great time together. I loved every minute of it. I know the kids did too. I can't wait until we go back again.

Home from Disneyland

So we made it to disneyland yesterday. We just drove down yesterday morning and came home last night. We had SO MUCH FUN. So much that we are considering buying season passes so we can go alot more. Caleb even got to go on all rides except for 2. Space Mountain was broken and so was Big Thunder. It's a Small World was closed for remodel or something. Jacob took Ryan and Marcus on Splash Mountain and Matterhorn since the babies were too small for those rides. We did not have long waits really on any rides. The Matterhorn had long lines all day, and then right after the first parade, there was hardly anyone in line and they waited about 10 minutes and got on. We timed that one just right. We ate lunch there and it was SO YUMMY. We ate at River Belle Terrace and all had sandwiches. Me, Ryan and Marcus all had pulled pork bbq sandwiches, and Jacob had Tri Tip sandwich, and the babies shared a turkey sandwich. We all had beans and fruit with it. It was SO GOOD. Oh my gosh the sandwiches were so good. It was $65.00 for our food, but so worth it. We had such a good time as a family and we enjoyed each and every minute of it. We wished we had more time to do more, but just ran out of time in the day. Next time we are getting a hotel room so we can stay down there the day we go to disneyland. Man we were exhausted by the time we got home. I got up at 4:30 yesterday morning to get in the shower and get the car loaded. The kids still had no idea we were going and thought Jacob had another work meeting and they had to go with me. We wanted to leave there by 6pm (since Jacob had work this morning and the kids had school). By the time we got to the car it was 7pm. We got home about 9pm. We got McDonalds on the way home and everyone was asleep in no time. I tried my hardest to stay awake, but kept dosing off on the way home. It was so much fun. I took so many pictures too. I have to download them and then I will post them. I am going to Office Max today to get printer ink and photo paper. I can't wait to print them out and start scrapbooking them.
Jacob didn't like the characters because he said they were wearing masks. So maybe next time. We saw a bit of the parade, and next time we will sit and watch the whole thing. We had frozen lemonades, ice cream bars, ALOT of waters and popcorn. I can't wait to go back already. We said next time we are going to eat at the restaurant inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. That will be fun.
Well Jacob still had to go to work today, so we have to take him some lunch here soon, so I better hop in the shower.

Disneyland

If it all works out we are going to surprise the kids tomorrow night and take them to Disneyland on Tuesday. Drive down tomorrow night and not tell them where we are going. I can't wait. I hope it all will work out..... Did I mention HOW EXCITED I AM????

WEEK 4

The topic question for this week is

WHAT IS AN IMPORTANT VALUE IN YOUR LIFE RIGHT NOW? WHY?

I know I haven't posted my layouts for the last two topics but I don't have ink in my printer, or any more photo paper for that matter. So as soon as I get that (hopefully this weekend), I can print out the photos and put them onto the layouts.

We went to a Mavericks baseball game tonight. (Our local minor league team). They lost 4 -0. It was ok. Caleb was a bit fussy the entire time. I think he was tired and his teeth were bothering him again. Darn that teething. Jacob enjoyed it alot. He didn't want to sit though, and I dont' think he ever did but was up and down all night. He had fun though and that is all that mattered. I missed having Jacob there though so much. It would have been alot more fun for me I think if he had been there. I was just thinking how much I missed having him there and he was at darn work. Hopefully next time he can go. It will have to be next season though. Jacob is off this weekend , and then until Tuesday, so maybe we can all do something as a family then. My mom sent a bag of cracker jacks home for him. (Even though he won't eat them). She just wanted him to have something from the game. We had hot dogs and nachos and sodas and snowcones. Oh my. The hot dogs were good, the nachos not so much.

Tomorrow is mr Ryans birthday. He is going to be 14. OMG. I cannot believe that. Before we know it he is going to be driving, and dating, and high school . Oh god it is all down hill now. Happy Birthday my mr teenager. We are proud of you for the young man you are becoming. I think we might go out to dinner as a family for his birthday. I dont' know yet, we will play it by ear and see what we are feeling like tomorrow night. We are going to Costco tomorrow and all the men are getting haircuts. We haven't gotten him anything yet, and have no idea what to get him. He keeps changing his mind. So who knows we might just give him money. He is trying to save up for a few things. We will see.

I am really excited that Jacob is off of work until Tuesday. Even though the kids have school, it is still nice to be able to eat dinner as a family and hang out, watch movies and do something. We want to do something, but have no idea what. We usually just go with the flow and see how we are feeling at the moment and go from there.

Next time I will post pictures from the baseball game too. I can't wait to scrap them as well. I have a few scrappy things to post as well. I made a Halloween book that I am thinking of selling on etsy. I dont' know yet though. I have some other things I am thinking about selling on there too, but still not sure. I haven't had a chance to scrap the last few days, but that is ok since I don't have ink to print out some photos anyways. So hopefully a quick trip to Office Max is in my weekend plans.

My New Baby

Yep this little baby is mine. Jacob bought it for me the other day. :) I am in camera heaven. I was going to take a picture of it with my other camera, but of course the battery was dead in it. So that will have to wait. It takes AMAZING pictures. I will share some of my favorites. Then stupid me watched PROM NIGHT

with Marcus in the dark tonight. Actually he fell asleep and so did Baby Jacob so I ended up watching most of it by myself in the dark. Daddy Jacob is at work. How stupid am I. Because then I was freaked out in the dark. Ugh. I should have waited to watch it when Jacob was home, because then I don't get scared. Just when I am alone at night. Good scary movie though.

Well here we are thinking that we have plenty of summer left and then on Saturday we found out that the kids started school on Wednesday instead of September. So panic it was. We had to rush out to buy all school stuff. Shoes, clothes, supplies and all that great stuff. They are both in junior high now. OMG. How did that happen??? Here they are that morning.

Ryan

Marcus

Yes they both needed a haircut. However we ran out of time on Tuesday, and they didn't want to get their hair cut anyways, but we are getting it cut this weekend.

I can't believe that they are in junior high now. OMG. They are still getting used to it, but I think they are enjoying it. They only have one class together, which is woodshop. I hope they make me something. :)

Together

I will share a few photos taken with my new baby that I really love.

Tomorrow night me and the kids are going to a baseball game with my mom and step dad, so I can't wait to use my camera there as well.

Been busy

Jacob has been off so when he is, I don't really get on the computer. I have some layouts that I have finished up. Been working on some other projects as well. I need some ink and photo paper for my printer so I can do some more layouts that I am dying to do. Got some cute pictures of the kids in the front yard the other day. Getting ready to do some back to school shopping. Had to reigster the kids for junior high because for some reason the kids' old school never sent in the paperwork for them to the junior high. So we got that all squared away.
Well since a few weeks ago when I had the topic of what are you reading, I realized I don't get to read as much as I would like. I read my scrapbook magazines of course and all that, but not books. I used to love to read and just kind of got out of the habit of doing it. So the other day at the grocerry store I was just looking and decided to pick one up. Read the back and it sounded interesting, so I went ahead and got this one.

It was pretty good. I couldn't put it down and finished it the day after I bought it. It was like watching a movie in my head. I always loved that about reading. I was enjoying it alot. Can't wait to pick up another good book. I like this author too, so I might pick up something by her again. I used to read Danielle Steel books all the time and almost read all of them. Maybe I will pick up some of that again. We will see.

I also must share my new love. Last Saturday Jacob took me to work (since the expedition isn't fixed yet) and after he picked me up I came home to this. He went to Sears and Target to find me a new Hoover. I LOVE this thing. So much that I find a reason to use it. I have used it everyday since. It has a cord that winds up into itself. LOVE that feature. It sucks up all the dog hair. It has attatchments. I LOVE the color as well. I was so surprised that he got it for me. I love it. Thanks to my baby for getting it for me. Of course he had vacuumed the entire house as well while I was at work. I had major issues with our old vacuum. It just would not suck stuff up and I would have to go over one spot a million times for it to get anything up. So it was just time.

I have been wanting to get this kind of photo of Caleb since he started officially walking a few weeks ago. I sat in the same spot and just took a bunch of pictures as he walked closer. I like the progression of it. I can't wait to print them out and scrap them.

Now this is what is looks like when a 3 1/2 year old dresses himself. One pajama shirt, one cotton pair of shorts, mismatched socks and mismatched shoes. And he really wanted to wear this that day. Oh my. Needless to say mommy helped a little after the shower.

Gotta love it though.

I have TONS of laundry to fold today, gotta vacuum again today and our neices birthday party is this afternoon.

Week 3

The topic for week 3 is:

IF YOU COULD HAVE A FREE PLANE TICKET TO ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD WHERE WOULD YOU GO?

I have a few ideas for this one.

Saturday, August 9, 2008

WEEK 2

The topic question for week 2 is:

WHAT WAS THE LAST TV SHOW OR MOVIE THAT YOU WATCHED AND WHY?

I have already started my layout for this one.

Things to share

Ok so it has been quite some time since I have gone to Walmart. Target is so much closer to us, and we tend to just go there. Well unfortunately Target does not carry Hylands Teething Tablets . The grocery store does, but they are alot more for less, and they don't always have them. So since we were out and he is molar teething still we decided we might as well go. Well since it has been so long, I was amazed at the craft department. The scrapbooking isle was amazing. They now carry the Martha Stewart line of stuff. WOW. I was thinking, "Am I really at Walmart?". I told Ryan I was in scrapbook overload with all of the stuff they had. They even had a cuttlekids on clearance for $15.00. I had it in my cart, but talked myself out if it. I wanted to see if it was worth it first. See if other dies will fit in it, that kind of thing. If nothing else, I should have bought it just so that Jacob could have something to play with while I am scrapbooking and he wants to "help". Oh well, if they still have it when I go next week then I might pick it up.
So I narrowed it down to this set of Autum Leaves fourish stamps. Want to know how much I got them for??? $8.69. I was SHOCKED. I have seen them go for almost $20.00 before. I was so excited. I want a few other things as well, but can't buy them all at once, so that is why I am going back next week.

Vesta is doing a thing at David's Bridal in a few weeks and she asked me to do a few things for display at the show. So here are a few things I made. (Goes along with the wedding layout I did the other day).

Here is the pieces of HOME book that I made. It is still a work in progress, but I thought I would share. I made the chipboard house myself. :) What do you think?

This is how it is all put together. It is a flip book really. (Thanks again for the inspiration Amber)
I think I might go ahead and post the next Topic of the Week today. I was going to do it every Friday, but tomorrow Jacob is off, we have tons of errands to run, register the kids for junior high, call again about soccer for the boys, and then I have to work. So I don't know if I will have time. If I decide not to do it today, and I don't have time tomorrow then I might wait and do it on Saturday. We will see.
Off to make sausage and eggs for breakfast.
