Cinnamon graham crackers and a layout.

I have always loved this snack since I was young and have recently given it to my kids and they love it too. It is just cinnamon sugar graham crackers with creamy peanut butter smeared on them. YUM. Fun little snack.

Here is the layout that I finished last night. Actually I haven't finished it yet, I still need to add the title, but I am still deciding what color and the exact title that I want. I got to use this star lace felt stuff that I got and it is cool. I love the look of it. Very sticky and if you stretch it while you are putting it down the stars look stretched out so you have to be very careful with that. Otherwise it is some cool stuff. The papers are from KaiserCrafts. We got TONS of their stuff at work and I want it all. Definately always love anything with stars and boy colors. So I instantly fell in love with this stuff.

Well last night Jacob and I were talking and he actually mentioned to me that now that he is making alot more a month he wouldn't mind moving into a house that is bigger. Fine by me. I mean I love this house, but it is true we need a bigger house. It is only 3 bedrooms and we have 4 kids. Even if we got a 4 bedroom house, the older boys could have their own room and the babies could still share. I think I love this house too because it is our first house. So the memories are there. But I would love to move.

Things I really want to look for:

*Windows in the front of the house in the living room. The current only windows into the front of the house are from the kids' bedrooms. Which means there isn't alot of light let into our living room. So I want that.

*A bigger front yard. I mean our front yard is a good size but this house was once a model, so there is this sidewalk that goes right through where the grass would be in the front yard. So I would like to get rid of that.

*I would love to have 5 bedrooms. I said if we found a 5 bedroom then the older boys could have their own rooms, Jacob and Caleb would still share and Jacob and I would have our room and then the empty room would be our computer/scrapbooking room. That would be so cool.

* More grass in the backyard. We don't have much grass back there right now.

*No white tile in the kitchen. I swear as soon as I clean it, it looks dirty again. Sucks. I gave up on mopping it every other day, because I just hate doing it, and then it just gets dirty again.

That is pretty much it though. Nothing huge and major. We are just renting, so I guess I can't be too picky. We also don't want to pay tons more in rent. We want to buy eventually but just want to get some things paid off first and then take that on. So I mean we need to save up some for the deposit and all that, but I so want to start looking now anyways. When I found this house it was not that we were looking to move, it just happened when I came across the house when I was taking the kids I babysat to school one morning. So I hope the next one will just happen and all fall into place. I am exciting at the thought and possibility of it all though.

American Idol results

Chikezie got voted off last night from American Idol. I didn't care that much for his singing, so no tears here.

Oh man the stupid dog ran right over my foot just a few minutes ago and her sharp nails on my cold feet = pain. That hurt so bad. What is up with this darn weather? One day it is beautiful and hot and the next it is cold and windy. What the heck. I don't like the back and forth weather. I like the nice not too hot not too cold weather.

Here is Caleb out on the grass a few days ago when it was hot.

Got a few errands to run this morning and then I am going to get some more laundry folded and then some scrapbooking done. I was going to sit down yesterday and then realized that I didn't have any of my new recent photos printed. So I started doing that, and only had 16 sheets of photo paper in 4x6 size and then as soon as those finished printing 2 of the ink colors were out as well. Oh Well. At least I got some printed. I really wanted Savannah's baseball pictures to print but I don't have any of the paper I want to use for that yet anyways so it is ok. Now both my photo printers are out of paper and ink. Dang it! On my list for tomorrow I guess. When Jacob gets his first big check I am going to stock up on ink and paper.

Flowers, Baseball, Easter candy and IDK

Busy day yesterday. Met sil Michelle at the mall with the kids. Ryan got his shoes and we had lunch at Hot Dog on a Stick. Michelle and I both LOVE the american cheese on a stick. Neither of us had planned to eat at the mall, but couldn't resist. The kids went with Michelle to her house until Savannah's softball game. So Jacob, Caleb and I had to stop at Target and then the grocerry store. Came home and unloaded the stuff, and changed our clothes and headed out to Savannah's game. It was at the college. It was so windy last night, but it was fun. Jacob and Hailee had fun playing baseball too with uncle Tommy. By the time the game was over and got loaded in the car it was almost 8pm when we got home last night. Michelle called before I got home and wanted the boys to spend the night with Savannah. So she came and picked them up a few minutes after I got home. They were thrilled. Then I made a quick bean and meat burrito dinner. Jacob and I didn't eat until almost 9:45pm. Oops. Oh well.

Got things I want to get done around the house today. I need to go by work and get some stuff. I need some glue for a project that I am making for Vesta. Need to decide what is for dinner. Jacob and I were thinking BLT's before he left for work, but when I let the dog out it was cold, so I am thinking something warm. I was thinking maybe chilli, but I know Jacob has been craving Jambalaya for some time now so maybe I will just make that and suprise him and have it all ready when he comes in from work tonight. Since he is working 12's he is tired and a bit hungry when he gets home. We will see. I need to get the stuff for Jambalaya if I do. Maybe blt's tomorrow night.
I want to get the house clean becuase I want to play with some stuff. I got a few new things of paper I want to play with.

These flowers ( I think the are iris') bloomed just the other day. I love the purple color. Can't wait to see if alot more bloom too. I took the photo this morning but it wasn't sunny and kinda cloudy, so I am going to see later when the sun is just starting to set if I can get a really good one of them.

This little buger said the funniest thing to me yesterday. I asked him a question when we were getting ready to leave and he turned to me and said, "IDK mommy". Oh my. The older kids say it, the neieces and nephews say it, so he just picked it up and I thought it was funny, even though it annoys me to death.

This is Easter morning with a mouth full of jelly beans.
I thought we would just let Caleb get a little lick of his Cadbury egg since it was Easter and then I was going to take it away. I was first holding it and he wanted full control of it. So this is him looking at it... Thinking yum.
Hmmm... This is some good chocolate...
So I think I will put the ENTIRE thing in my mouth.
Oh my little chunk butt. It was so funny though.
I love this shot I got last night at Savannah's game. I love how I got the action shot of her swinging the bat. Happy to report too that they won.
Jacob is so ready to play ball himself. He was having fun playing catch with Uncle Tommy and Ryan and Marcus and Hailee too. He was loving the mitt and the bat. He was so cute. I can't wait until we are sitting out there watching him play.

Jacob and Hailee playing catch together. The wind was a bit much so their hair is all over. Jacob's curls are just flat.

Sharing a moment with Uncle Tommy. (I am sure they are discussing baseball)

Off to get some laundry started and folded and look at the dang dishwasher again, that keeps not draining the water. Hopefully I will have some layouts to post for tomorrow.

Happy (late) Easter

Happy Late Easter.
We had a good day. Me and the kids went to my moms in the morning. We had pork chops and cesaer salad and mashed potatoes and rolls and green beans. Was yummy. We had strawberry shortcake for dessert.
Then we met Jacob at home and went to his sisters for a bit.
We ate there again. We had ribs, chicken and ham. Tons of sides as well.

Then we came home and relaxed. We did get hungry later that night and went to Jack in the Box and got some tacos. (The kids were hungry too).

Was a nice day except I am so mad that I didn't get a picture of the kids. DANG IT. I kept saying I was going to do it later, and then later turned into never. Oh well, it is what it is.
( I might just dress them up again after their clothes are cleaned and take one..what is a few days differnce)

Off to make the kids some pancakes for breakfast.
Then clean up a bit and shower.
Off to the mall with sil and so the kids can get some new shoes with the gift cards that their mom sent them.
Neice has a soft ball game tonight at 5pm.
Jacob has to work 12 hours a day now (for some time with this new job), so I want to make sure dinner is done for him when he gets home because he will be tired.
Groccery store too.
Target for toilet paper, baby formula and something else that I cannot think of.

Busy day...

Relief, Happy and Proud...

That is what I am feeling right now. Jacob was a little late getting home from work yesterday and I really didn't think much of it. Well he comes in and tells me he is for sure NOT getting laid off. When he was getting to leave work yesterday the assistant plant manager and the plant manager called him upstairs and offered him the supervisor position they have been talking about. WOOHOO!! The starting pay is nice. It is salary plus overtime. Then when he stays supervisor for one year he gets a $5000.00 bonus. Plus they pay for him a cell phone. I am so excited. He has worked so hard for this and deserves every minute of it. What is great too is that he didn't apply for this position they seeked him out for it. :) I am so proud of him.

American Idol Update

Amanda Overmyer got kicked off last night. Thank goodness. She is the one that I could not stand.

Been pretty busy the last few days.

Went to Vallarta finally on Tuesday and got my oranges. 15.08 pounds of them for $1.51. What a deal. I took a picture of all of the oranges in our fruit bowl and it is funny becasue they kept falling out and rolling around the kitchen.

Went to Walmart on Tuesday as well. So crowded from all the people getting Easter stuff, which I as well have not gotten anything for the kids baskets yet. Thinking I will do it on Saturday. I know that is late, but I am off now on Saturday. We had a good dinner too. We had salad and lasagna hamburger helper and garlic bread. It was so yummy.

Yesterday I had to go pick up my paycheck and then hit the grocerry store. Jacobs sister and brother in law and their daughter Hailee (who turned 2 yesterday) came over for dinner. We had BBQ chicken (cooked in the oven though) and hot dogs (becasue we were going to BBQ) and bean salad. Then I made a cheesecake for dessert. It was all yummy.

Today Ryan and Marcus are on a field trip to the junior high. Since they are going there next year the older kids at their current school are going to check it all out and see what junior high is all going to be about. How exciting and scary and sad at the same time. I can't believe that they are going to be in junior high next year. WOW! They are growing up so fast. Things are going to be so different and new for them next year. I am alreay nervous for them.

I cleaned the entire house yesterday and folded my forever growing laundry pile. So maybe tonight I can get some scrapbooking done. I hate to scrapbook when I have laundry to fold and a dirty house. I guess I feel quilty for doing "play" stuff when I should be doing "chore" stuff. Oh well it is all clean now.

Hopefully I will have some layouts to post tomorrow. I have new paper and everything that I really want to play with.

Greys Anatomy

Just read that the first NEW episode of Greys Anatomy will air on Thursday April 24th. I am so exicited. Took this quiz:

http://abc.go.com/primetime/greysanatomy/quiz/greysdiagnosis/index

Says that I am most like Izzie.

The Hutch

Here is the table and hutch that I got from my sil. It is a light wood and I was thinking that I wanted to paint it black. Now that I look though if I paint it black it is really going to blend in with those chairs. So I am thinking I just want to stain it the dark wood color on the chairs. The dark wood color is also the color of our dining table. We will see. I just like it so much there though. I needed something on this wall like this. I had the chairs and just two small cabinets put together before.
We made it as far as Walmart on Saturday. My sil told me that our neice was having her first softball game so we decided to stop by. The game was only supposed to be about an hour long. Well we get there and it is so darn windy, and then it started to sprinkle, and then hail, and then snow. So needless to say we didn't stay very long at all because I was afraid with the babies both having ear infections. I got a few pictures of Savannah and that was it. We were there only about 15 minutes. The snow was starting to stick just by the time we got to the car. COLD for sure. Got to my house after that though and it was dry as a bone.
When we went to the groccery store it was snowing pretty good though. Since it was all wet it wasn't really sticking. Didn't stick at our house either. Had dinner that night at mil house. She made chicken parmesean. I love chicken parmesean. With mashed potatoes and corn. YUM!
Had to work yesterday. Jacob went to get new boots for work. Then Jacobs brother and his fiancee came for dinner and Jacobs mom and dad. I made tacos, rice and beans. It was good.
I am so excited that BOTH my sil are pregnant. Their due dates are like a week apart from each other. :) I think Daniel and Kortney are going to have a boy and Jamie and Jason are going to have another girl. This is just my prediction. Only time will tell.
Have my corned beef in the crock pot for dinner tonight. Glad I have that going because this afternoon is parent teacher conferences as well.
Off to check on my really fussy Caleb now. Poor baby...between his ear infection and teething he is just not feeling so hot these last few days.

Wendy's

Ok before I run off to get my day going I have to share what happened to me yesterday. Fridays are Jacobs pay days and the kids have minimum days of Fridays. So I usually do the bank and if I have any small errands to do, because I also work on Fridays. So I just had to run to the bank and a small errand. Well I usually get us lunch on Fridays since the kids are home early and stuff. Well Jacob was off yesterday too, so I just ran through Wendy's (the one on La Paz). I ordered the kids the 2.99 meals and Jacob and I each a meal. We get home and are sitting down to eat, and I realized they put onions on mine after I said no onions. Well I am really glad that they did put onions because when I opened it up to remove them, my tomatoes had big black mold spots on them. I almost threw up. I called and spoke with a manager and I don't think she really believed me because she kept asking me , "Are you sure it is mold?". Um yeah I am sure. I told her it was the most disgusting thing I have EVER seen. So I told her if you don't believe me I will bring it to you and show you. So she told me to bring it in and she would give me a new cheeseburger. So I hurried over there (it was getting close for time for me to go to work). She replaced my entire meal. I gave the fries to the kids and took the soda to work with me. I had a really hard time eating the new cheeseburger because all I could see in my mind was the moldy tomatoes. YUCK!!! ***When I was telling the girls at work they said that a customer last Friday got a moldy cucumber on her salad last Friday too at the other Wendy's***. This really makes me wonder about Wendy's now. I dont' know if I want to go back there to any Wendy's for that matter.
Well Jacob just called and wanted to know when I was going to bring him some food so I better hop in the shower before all the kids get up. I can now here Mr. Caleb yelling at me from his room too.

American Idol Results, and My Todays To-Do List.

David Hernandez was voted off on Wednesday night. I thought he was pretty good too. Oh well you just never know with this show.
I really like Brooke. I don't like Amanda. Brooke I think is the only one who has been really good all the weeks. All the others have been up and down. I still don't know who my favorite guy is.
Did anyone see now you can call in on results night and talk to them on air. Interesting.
Well Jacob has to work today, and me and the kids have some errands to do.
Walmart (NEED: toilet paper, pens, laundry soap, diapers, a shelf that I hope they still have for my scrap closet), We need to do some groccery shopping. Going to hit up my regular Stater Brothers, but also Vallarta. Vallarta has 10 pounds of oranges for $1.00. WOW. My kids are all fruit lovers, so if I buy any kind of fruit it doesn't last long around here. So for that price that will be alot of oranges. Might get $2.00 worth because I like oranges as well. Gotta pick up some corned beef for Monday. I dont' make the cabbage with the corned beef because we don't like the cabbage, but we usually have corned beef and potatoes. I usually stick them in the crock pot and let them cook all day. Must make sure I have mustard on hand too.
I need to pick up a hutch at Jacobs moms house too. My sil Jamie was selling it at her garage sale and I told her if she didn't sell it I wanted it. It didn't sell so it is mine. It is currently white wash, so I am going to paint it black to go with our decor. I am so excited though. I think I am just going to go super simple and spray paint it. We will see. I will share pictures of it.
Well all the kids are still asleep and I am freezing still, so I am thinking I might go hop in the shower or finish reading my current Creating Keepsakes magazine. I don't know yet.

Americal Idol

Who watches American Idol? I have for a few years now. I think I started watching the year that I was pregnant with Jacob. So I am off to watch the results show now. I wonder who will get voted off??? My favorites are... Brooke White for the girls. I don't like Amanda she is always screaming in her songs and I can rarely understand her. The guys.. There are two I think I like I am not sure yet though who is my favorite. Off to watch.

By the way last night to add to my day, the toilet over flowed on me as well.

What a day...

I tell ya, if it isn't just one thing than it is 15 others.
Day started off normal. Had a follow up doctors appointment for Jacob from his double ear infections and Calebs 9 month check up. I was really glad we already had one for today though because Caleb started coughing last night and was wheezy today and all stuffed up. My poor baby. I could tell he just wasn't feeling himself this morning when he just woke up and went right back to sleep. Usually when he gets up he wants out of bed and to be on the go. So I had to get him up to get him ready for the doctors appointment. We were late getting out the door and to the appointment. Just by a few minutes though. So Jacob is fine now, and Caleb has an ear infection. Then he had to get a shot. Poor baby.
So we leave and stop at Target for a few things and then drive through Del Taco. Well when I got back in the car at Target the battery icon light was on in the truck. Great. So I went home and told Jacob and he said he thinks it is the alternator. He said he would look at it tomorrow since he had to go to work a bit later. So we eat and Jacob (baby) spills my ketchup all over my Target bag filled with stuff still. Eigh yeigh yeigh. So I am going to make the ribs in the fridge for dinner, and since Jacob is on swing shift (3pm-11pm) I make dinner early and he takes it with him (sometimes I just take it to him hot. Well I go to open the ribs and they smelled funny to me. We have had the fridge for a little under a year. We got it from my mom and step dad. Well just in the last few weeks it has not been working right. It did it once and then we unplugged it and it was fine again. Well now it is acting up again. It just won't keep things extremely cold and the freezer is cold, but stuff is soft frozen, and it won't make ice. So the ribs were bad from not being cold enough. So crap. Which then means that I will have to take him dinner, which is fine. So the kids got home from school and we left, had to go to the credit union first and was stuck in road construction. Then picked up Calebs medicine. Went to Weinersnitsel and then stopped to get gas. We pulled into Jacobs work and went through the gate to take it right up to his office and the expedition (yes the new one we just bought one month and one week ago), just dies. So Ryan ran up and told Jacob and he though it was just the battery. Well it wants to start but just won't completley turn over. Like it is out of gas. Well I know it isn't since I just got gas. So Jacob was thinking it might be the fuel pump. ERRR!!! So we had to coast it back down out of the gate and park it on the side for now. I had to walk across the place to go get Jacobs truck. We had to switch the car seats and then came home. Going to have it towed with Jacobs mom and dads AAA, but when they get home from dinner. Just waiting for them to call. I was going to have to go pick up Jacob from work but someone is giving him a ride home. Thanks goodness. I don't mind having to pick him up but with Caleb having an ear infection I don't want to have to take him out that late. So that part is good. After we get home the kids saw the ice cream man and they told him to stop so he stopped across the street while they came in to get me. I went out there and he drove down the street. So we waited and waited and waited. He comes back this way and about 2 house from us turned back around and never came back. Meany! We were all bummed out about that one. Oh well. Just want to get the truck home and fixed. We had a one month warranty, doesn't that just figure. Just so frustrating. Well I would like all the kids to go to bed and me put on my jammies and then do some scrapbooking and then go to bed. Ready for this day to be over.
Sorry for the rant.

New look

So I put a new design here on my blog and when I hit save it erased all of my links. Darn it. Oh well. I just need to remember all of them and put them back in. Not a huge deal.

Did some layouts last night.

Off to work on some more layouts.

Painting

Been busy painting today. Painted some sticks for a project for the store, and painting the rest of the bathroom too. First coat is on and another is ready but will most likely have to wait until Monday.
Pictures will come when it is all finished.

Off to do some scrapbooking now and try to stay awake until Jacob gets home from work.

Caleb and meatloaf tip

First off I cannot even believe that my baby is 9 months old already. He is growing so fast. He shakes his head no now. So cute. I love the way he sits on one leg when he plays.

I want to share this tip for when you cook meatloaf. I learned it from Paula Dean. (Gotta love her). If you put bread on the bottom of your baking dish and then put the meatloaf on top, when you cook the grease from the meat will soak into the bread. I have done it twice and it is a great tip. Makes clean up so much easier too. I love the it just soaks into the bread and not all over the bottom of the dish. Great tip.

Gabrielle tagged me so here goes...

7 random facts about me.

1. Jacob and I have been together for almost 10 years.
2. I have 4 boys.
3. I have had the same best friend for 16 years (since 7th grade), which is over half of my life.
4. I started scrapbooking in high school, then started up again after Jacob and I got together.
5. I have a secret addiction to general hospital, which I have watched since I was in the 7th grade.
6. I eat macaroni and cheese with ketchup on it.
7. Lately (with my 3 year old learning to potty train and trying to outside train our puppy) I say the word poop more times in one day than I think most people say in an entire year.

Now I tag... Well I don't know many people, so I will tag...

Didn't make it...

on the Kits2Remember design team. I am ok with it though. There is always next time. I am glad that I did it though.

So anyways here is all of my acrylic album.

It was so much fun to make. I intended to just do a layout for Jacob's 3rd birthday pictures and I guess I just kind of dreamt this up (literally) and it just grew from there. The very last page is for journaling and I just haven't gotten to that yet.

Well I have all of my photos organized for now. I think I am really enjoying this system alot. Just like Stacy said in her book she scraps more relationships and pictures that you never realized really that make a memory or a story or a relationship grouped the way she has them. I have to say it happened to me too. I had two pictures both printed in black and white, one with me and Caleb and one with me and Jacob. Both are of me kissing them. Taken almost exactly one year apart from each other. I would never had realized I even had each of them.
I was really into scrapping the "events" and didn't realize the relationship in photos as much as I do now.
This is how they were organized.

Now they are all in pretty boxes that look like this. I have index cards for the dividers, but Target only had 4x6 ones so you can't see them over the photos. We have a tab punch at work that I think I am going to borrow and make tabs so you can see them. I will just have to leave the lids off of the boxes. Which I think will work becasue I think Walmart has this shelf that will fit just perfect across the wall in my scrap area and then the boxes will go on there. Instead of 4 boxes though, I only made 3. I have ALL ABOUT US, PEOPLE WE LOVE AND then together in one box I have PLACES WE GO AND THINGS WE DO.
I will post a picture of the boxes all organized once I make the tabs.

Well I have got to get some stuff done for work for tomorrow.

Monday, March 3, 2008

New Organization

Working on that still. I figured out my catagories, and made the divider cards up. Now I have to actually seperate the photos. I am excited and kinda nervous at the same time. Working on that tomorrow maybe. We will see.

Read on Kits2remember website that she will post the winner of her new design krew on her blog by the end of the week. So we will see there too.

Off to bed.

Photo Freedom

I read Stacy Julians first book Big Picture Scrapbooking and I really liked it. So I knew when this one came out I was going to want it. So as soon as I saw it I bought it.

Now even though I don't always love her all of her layouts, I really like her organization of things. Now I have NO WHERE near the amount of room that she does for hers, but I could totally adapt in many ways.

She talks alot about people who only scrap in chronilogical order and so on. Well I don't scrap in order, but I do organize that way. I keep all event photos together and don't tend to branch out from that much. I was thinking just the other day before reading this book that I feel stuck in a rut in some ways because I am just trying so hard to get "caught up" in a sense because I just want to get through old photos of events. So I am not tending to branch out and do those personalitly pages, or relationship pages.

Her system is all about organizing the photos in such a way that makes these kinds of layouts much easier. So I don't have the money or the space to go all out and organize like her, but I am going to change a BIG part of the way that I organize my photos.

I was going to attempt it today, but just didn't get a chance to really sit down and figure out my system yet. I did stop by Michaels on my way to Walmart and got 3 photo boxes in brown and light blue (to match our master bedroom where my scrap space is). So I have an idea of how I want to attmept this. I am hoping tomorrow I will have a chance to get to it, but we will see. This little ones always have me on my toes.

So I do really LOVE this book and am so glad that I got it. I would recommend it for sure. I also have decided something about my albums. I have been really thinking about the 3 ring binders for some time now. I currently have a million different colored albums and was really not liking the unity of them. So I have seen several people lately that used colored albums for different things and I think I am going to change over as well. Something similar to Stacy Julian and Becky Higgins. Becky does differnt colors for each child and another color for their family albums. Stacy does all one color for all the family members and other colors for different aspects of her albums. So this will be a big part of my new organization system as well. I really like the albums that Stacy uses. They are from American Crafts. They are just tan and the spine is a different color. So I will figure it all out and go from there. I think I will like this so much better for display in our living room as well. Now they don't match and are all just kind of there. So we will see. I might jsut try to get one album at a time. I will photo all my conversion.

I am excited for this new organization process and hope it is easy to get it all done. I currently just have each child in a different zip lock bag and then each event wrapped with lined paper with the date and what the event was. Not such a great system. Excited!

On other news. I got an email from Jessica stating that she got my email and she is looking forward to reviewing my projects that I sent her and getting to know me. If I am picked she will notify my within the first week of March. So I can't wait.

I got this in an email and thought it would be a fun thing for my blog. This is the last thing and then I am off to bed. It is late and I am way tired.
